I welcome students of all ages, from complete beginner to the more advanced player. I also offer introductory lessons for the young starter. These will help parents decide how to determine when their child is ready, and if they are suited to piano lessons. I can help prepare you for practical & theoretical music exams as well as giving guidance on school homework.

Students are individuals and progress at different paces, depending on their natural ability, interest, time and other outside influences.  With this in mind, my courses are tailor-made to suit the needs of the individual, allowing progress at a speed convenient to them. My lessons are all home visits, which I feel puts the student at ease being in a known environment and learning on their own instrument with which they are familiar.

I hope students will obtain important attributes, such as commitment, perseverance and personal responsibility in what they do. I want them to love the music they learn and enjoy what they perform so that they will ultimately become skilled pianists or keyboardists. But above all, it is my hope that the student will develop a personal sense of achievement through their accomplishments, gaining self-confidence and self-esteem.

Lessons Tailor Made for All Your Needs

Achieving your Ambition

Whether you want to learn a few tunes as your party piece at Christmas or you plan to make it your career, my aim is to help you achieve your ambition. Learning to play an instrument can be very rewarding. But to become proficient takes regular practice, understanding and a certain determination to succeed. However, there is no reason why you cannot fulfil your dreams and master your chosen instrument.

The key to success in mastering your piano or keyboard is in practising your instrument. But if you do, it can be a springboard to success for the rest of your life. Students who have attended lessons regularly, paid attention in them and have done their practice, will be truly rewarded.

that you never knew existed - Bill Evans

Music for enjoyment

Although achieving your ambitions will take hard work and effort, music is to be enjoyed! I hope that whatever genre you play, it is a pleasurable experience for you. Impress your friends by playing the latest songs. That way, they too will enjoy the occasion and may be encouraged by your playing.

Where Music and Creativity Meet

Music is a creative process and I actively encourage students to experiment and ’try things out’. This is how many composers work. You will make mistakes along the way, but think of this as a positive step, which will only make you want to improve and get better.

Musical elements: pitch, rhythm, tone, duration, tempo, expression, melody & harmony.
